Raincoats - Fairytale in the Supermarket
(Rough Trade RT-013 UK-79 EX 225:-)

One of the more unusual bands to rise from the British punk explosion of the 1970s, the Raincoats were an All-female British band whose D.I.Y. approach and experimental sound defied categorization, influencing everything from indie rock to twee pop.

1979 UK 3-track EP, also features "In Love" and "Adventures Close To Home". The thin paper flip back picture sleeve does show minimal shelfwear - the vinyl looks excellent - a great copy!
Ramones - Do You remember Rock n Roll Radio
(Sire SIR-4037 UK-80 VG+ 175:-)

The Ramones were the first punk rock band. Other bands, such as the Stooges and the New York Dolls, came before them and set the stage and aesthetic for punk, and bands that immediately followed, such as the Sex Pistols, made the latent violence of the music more explicit, but The Ramones crystallized the musical ideals of the genre.

Original UK single; b/w "I want You around".
Regents . Barbara Ann
(Roulette REP-1033 Swe-61 VG+ 250:-)

Revere & the Raiders, Paul - Louie Louie
(Columbia 42814 Promo US-63 EX 250:-)

No other rock & roll band has experienced the rollercoaster ups and downs in reputation that Paul Revere & the Raiders have known across 40 years in music. One of the most popular and entertaining groups of the 1960s, they enjoyed 10 years of serious chart action, and during their three biggest years (1966-69) got as much radio play as any group of that decade, sold records in numbers second only to the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, and received nearly as much coverage in the music press of the period (which included a lot of teen fan magazines) as the Beatles or the Rolling Stones. Yet when most histories of rock started getting written, Paul Revere & the Raiders were scarcely mentioned — at best, they were usually a footnote to the boom years of the late '60s.

Richards, Keith - What a Feeling
(Amazing Pig KR-TAP-006-PRO US-83 EX 250:-)

Arguably the finest blues-based rhythm guitarist to hit rock & roll since his idol Chuck Berry, Keith Richards knocked out some of the most indelible guitar riffs in history, and he did it so often and with such apparent effortlessness that it was easy to take his songwriting skills for granted. His lean, punchy, muscular sound was the result of his unerring sense of groove and intuitive use of space within songs, all of which played a major part in laying the groundwork for hard rock.

Limited numbered edition (#676); containing "Bulldog", "What a Feeling", "All about You" and "It won't Belong".

Rolling Stones - Cocksucker Blues
(Coco Records (8203) Ger–8? VG+ 250:-)

After seeing Cocksucker Blues, Robert Frank's documentary about the Rolling Stones' 1972 tour of America, Mick Jagger was said to have remarked to the director, "It's a fucking good film, Robert, but if it shows in America we'll never be allowed in the country again".

The song "Cocksucker Blues" was written to be purposefully unreleasable. (Lyrics like "Where can I get my cock sucked?/Where can I get my ass fucked?" just didn't fly in the 1970s).

In the eyes of countless hard rock fans, David Lee Roth is the prototypical frontman. With a flamboyant, larger-than-life stage presence and a party-hardy surfer-dude persona (not to mention his acrobatic leaps, long mane of blond hair, and skintight spandex outfits), Roth was an integral part of Van Halen's meteoric rise to global dominance during the late '70s and early '80s.
