On the Waterfront - Kids are Alright
(Wizz Records WIZZ-1 UK-86 EX 500:-)

On the Waterfront was an English indieband formed in Tilbury, Essex by Billy Mayell, Tony Fitzgerald, Paul Patch and Jon Yallop.

This is their one and only release, a 12" containing "The Kids are Allright" / "Never Surrender" / "Far from the Madding Crowd" / "Mrs Harrington".
Only Ones - Lovers of Today
(Vengeance VEN-001 UK-77 EX 175:-)

Led by the raffish and slightly scuzzy romance-obsessed Peter Perrett, the Only Ones were one of the punk era's most underrated bands. Not as confrontational as the Sex Pistols, as politically indulgent as the Clash, or as stripped-down as the Ramones, the Only Ones played not-so-fast guitar rock that sounded deeply indebted to the New York Dolls and other mid-'70s proto-punks.

Original UK solid centre single, b/w 'Peter and the Pets'.
Ono, Yoko - Now or Never
(Apple 2C-006-94.080 Fra-73 EX 275:-)

Yoko Ono is a Japanese musician and peace activist born February 18, 193 in Tokyo, Japan. She was married to John Lennon from 1969 until he was killed in 1980.

This is an Original French issue, b/w "Move on Fast", recorded with the Plastic Ono Band featuring Elephants Memory.
Orbison, Roy - Oh, Pretty Woman
(London HL-9919 PS Swe-64 VG+ 225:-)

Although he shared the same rockabilly roots as Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, and Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison went on to pioneer an entirely different brand of country/pop-based rock & roll in the early '60s. What he lacked in charisma and photogenic looks, Orbison made up for in spades with his quavering operatic voice and melodramatic narratives of unrequited love and yearning.

Original Swedish single in an unique picture sleeve, with "Ye te Amo Maria" on the B-side!
Overlanders - Michelle
(Pye 7N-17034 Swe-66 EX 250:-)

The Overlanders were a highly underrated group. Their one U.K. hit - a version of the Beatles song "Michelle" - usually gets them pegged as a cover band, while their actual sound was a beautifully wrought synthesis of folk-inspired vocals and Merseybeat-style harmonies, rhythms, and instrumentation - they were comparable, in some ways, to the Searchers.

Original Swedish single; b/w "Cradle of Love".
